Units offered by SIMS to FIT

BBT1205 Differential Calculus

BBT 3401 - Operations Research (2019)

ICS1205 - Linear Algebra

This course provides an introduction to system modelling using both
computer simulation and mathematical techniques. The emphasis is on the analysis of computer and communication systems using a combination discrete-event simulation and modelling paradigms such as queueing theory and stochastic process.

MAT3402 - Operations Research

This course provides an introduction to system modelling using both computer simulation and mathematical techniques. It covers model construction and simulation applied to problems taken from such diverse fields as economics, social science, communication networks and computer systems. Evaluating the performance of a computer system usually involves constructing an appropriate model of the system and then using the model to predict the system's behaviour.
